A Level and GCSE Success for Richmond Park Academy as Results Improve Year on Year

Richmond Park Academy has announced strong uplifts in its exam performances at both A Level and GCSE this year.

At A Level 43% of passes were A* to B with 14% of examinations achieving the highest A* grade. Two students, Charlotte H and Sophie H achieved 7 A*s and 1 A between them. Charlotte (German, Creative Writing, English and Art) said, “RPA has been a real adventure with great support from all of the teachers.” Sophie (Creative Writing, English, History and Psychology) added, “I can’t quite believe that I am leaving RPA – but what a highlight to end on! The teachers have been the biggest difference; they did everything they could to make sure we got the results we deserved.”

The school’s GCSE results showed an impressive 17% year on year increase in its A*C grades, including English and Maths with 70% of students clearing that benchmark and comfortably exceeding the national average.

There were strong performances across all subjects with Biology and Chemistry reporting 100% pass marks, with Physics just behind on 96.2%. History achieved a pass rate of 80% with 30% achieving an A*/A. PE and Drama results improved year on year with 69% and 65.5% respectively.

Jay A who achieved three 9s, 5 A*s and 2 As. After opening his envelope he said, ““I have always felt supported and encouraged at Richmond Park Academy. The teachers were always willing to offer as much help as possible and encourage me to take leadership opportunities. It wasn’t all about academic success.”

Ella H, who achieved 1 A*, 6As, two 6s and one 7, has contributed to the fabric of RPA with her academic and musical skills and summed up her time at Richmond Park Academy by saying, “It has been a huge learning curve at Richmond Park Academy. We have lived through a lot of change here but that change has always been well supported by the teachers. It has been good fun and I have made lots of friends – as well as getting results that I am proud of.”

Principal Paul Mundy-Castle said, “This is a hugely encouraging turnaround for our students all within the context of the biggest change in examinations in a generation. Our students should feel very proud of themselves as should our who have worked tirelessly this year to ensure that every opportunity to improve was available. We have a very robust approach to improvement in our school and I am delighted that both sets of exams have rewarded both students and staff.”
